...answering "God's Call to Serve"

A volunteer organization for CLSH (Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home, Rainbow Village and Luckenbach Assisted Living) had been a dream for many years. During the summer of 2001, several volunteers, along with CLSH staff members, began working on a format for the auxiliary and a handbook and guidelines for this non-denominational group.

Orientation sessions began in August 2002. A nominating committee was elected from the charter membership in September. The November meeting included more members who had completed orientation and votes were cast for a slate of officers. Those elected officers were installed at the December meeting in preparation to serve the 2003 year term.

"Volunteers show their love for God and neighbor by their caring words and actions," stated former CLSH Chaplin, Pastor Pat Dietrich. "We appreciate the many volunteers who give of their time and energy in sharing. Through the Sunset Auxiliary, we will strive to better equip our volunteers through training, monthly meetings, regular information dissemination, and special guest speakers."
